Battery Systems Engineer

Full-time
Engineering
Boulder, CO

Own battery pack design and integration from concept to validated hardware. You’ll do the math, make the drawings, wire the test stand, and ship product that passes compliance and works in the field.

Key Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent hands-on track record).
  • 3–7 years designing lithium-ion packs/modules (cell selection, S/P topology, fuse and contactor sizing, current/thermal margins).
  • BMS integration experience: pre-charge, HVIL, contactors, balancing, fault handling, and CAN diagnostics.
  • Thermal management fundamentals: heat generation modeling, liquid cooling basics, ΔT targets, validation with sensors/logging.
  • High-voltage safety and testing: isolation resistance, hipot/dielectric withstand, leak/pressure checks for cooling circuits.
  • Familiarity with UN38.3 and basic IATA/DOT shipping rules; working knowledge of UL 2271/2580 (you know what tests exist and why).
  • Able to read/sanity-check schematics, harness drawings, and PCB layouts; comfortable with ECAD/MCAD collaboration.
  • Data fluency: log parsing and quick analysis in Python/NumPy/Excel; clear, versioned documentation (DVP&R, test reports, ECOs).
  • Proven lab chops: bring-up, oscilloscopes, power supplies, loads, thermocouples, CAN tools; you own your test results.
  • You can operate independently, communicate clearly, and hit dates without babysitting.
  • Nice to have (not required):
  • Wire-bonded cell experience (18650/21700), manifolded liquid cooling, pack sealing/IP ratings.
  • Participated in FSAE in college.
  • SolidWorks/Fusion for pack/mech trades and quick fixture design.

Sales Engineer

Full-time
Operations
Boulder, CO

Own technical sales from first call to signed PO. You’ll qualify, scope, price, and close battery solutions built primarily from our COTS platforms (MonoLith™ & Lithium Block™), with custom work kept intentional and limited.

Key Requirements:

  • 3–8 years in technical sales or applications engineering for batteries, power electronics, or industrial hardware—with quota attainment you can prove.
  • Working grasp of lithium-ion packs: cell chemistries, series/parallel design, BMS basics (pre-charge, HVIL, contactors, balancing), and thermal management.
  • Ability to turn RFQs into clear architectures and BOMs, then produce accurate quotes (pricing, lead time, margin) fast.
  • CRM discipline (HubSpot/Salesforce): pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, notes that actually help the next person.
  • Contract literacy: NDAs, MSAs, T&Cs, warranty language; basic export/shipping awareness (UN38.3, IATA/DOT) so you don’t promise the impossible.
  • Comfort reading schematics/block diagrams and sanity-checking feasibility with engineering.
  • Strong writing and slide skills; you can explain tradeoffs to engineers and executives.
  • Willing to travel for customer visits and shows (~10%) and work a booth like a pro.
  • Nice to have (not required):
  • Experience selling to aerospace/defense, industrial traction, or university motorsport (FSAE) teams.
  • Familiarity with common traction BMS vendors, CAN tooling/log review, and basic data analysis (Excel/Python).
  • Light CAD markup for concept reviews; comfort with CPQ tools.
  • What you’ll do:
  • Qualify inbound/outbound, run crisp discovery, and map requirements to COTS first; propose custom only when ROI and timeline justify it.
  • Build solution overviews (block diagrams, pack sizing, interface lists), align on DVP&R/compliance plans, and drive timelines.
  • Price and negotiate clean proposals; coordinate handoff to PM/engineering without dropping context.
  • Maintain sales collateral that stays true to what we can actually deliver (spec sheets, FAQs, case briefs).

Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Full-time
Manufacturing
Boulder, CO

Assemble and test lithium-ion battery modules and packs (mechanicals, harnessing, cooling hardware) per work instructions and quality checks. Build clean, document accurately, and help ship hardware that works.

Key Requirements:

  • 2+ years assembling electro-mechanical products (battery/EV/aerospace/industrial) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Able to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly travelers; follows SOPs without hand-holding.
  • Proficient with torque tools and calibrated crimpers (AMP/Tyco/Molex); confident with DMM/continuity checks; exposure to hipot/insulation-resistance testing is a plus.
  • ESD-safe handling of cells/PCBs; IPC-A-610/620 workmanship basics.
  • Harness building: cut/strip/crimp, loom, heat-shrink, labeling; clean routing and strain relief.
  • Mechanical basics: drilling, tapping, deburring, rivnuts; fastener prep, thread-locker, and torque-spec discipline.
  • Adhesives/sealants: potting, RTV, and gasket application with bond-line control and cure tracking.
  • Cooling loops: assemble fittings/hoses; perform nitrogen pressure/leak checks and record results.
  • Quality mindset: record serials/DHR data, maintain traceability, and raise non-conformances promptly.
  • Computer-literate: work orders/BOMs in ERP, labeling tools, basic spreadsheets.
  • Safety: high-voltage awareness (LOTO/PPE), can lift 50 lb and stand most of shift; comfortable in lab/manufacturing environments.
  • Schedule: reliable, on-time, and willing to support critical builds/overtime when needed.
