Wire Bonding
Definition
Cell interconnection method using multiple small-diameter aluminum or copper wires ultrasonically welded to cell terminals. Provides flexible, low-stress connection.
Why It Matters
- EVolve's core technology for MonoLith products
- Excellent vibration tolerance compared to rigid bus bars
- Allows thermal expansion without stress on cells
- Redundant connections improve reliability
Common Pitfalls
- Not designed for field disassembly or repair
- Requires specialized equipment and expertise
- Bond quality depends on surface preparation
- Not suitable for all cell formats (works best with cylindrical)
